Step-by-step instructions for onboarding new company car drivers

1. Delivery and First Overview

You will receive your charging cable in a box delivered to your home.

The package includes:

  • The charging cable/adapter

  • A flyer with all key information and app download instructions

The device is ready to use immediately and can already be used for charging before the app setup. It stores all charging sessions independently, even without an active app connection.


2. Download and Install the App

  • You will find the download information for our LOCIO app (iOS and Android) on the flyer.

  • Download the app to your smartphone.

  • Complete the installation.

  • Launch the app.


3. Create a User Account

  • Create a user account in the app.

  • Make sure to use your company email address.

    • Reason: This is the only way the fleet management can clearly identify you in the dashboard and assign your data.

  • After registering, you can log into the app.


4. Connect the Cable to the App

  • Grant the app all required permissions (e.g., Bluetooth).

  • Once the connection is established, the device will appear in the app.

  • The device is automatically registered as soon as you start your first charging session.

Synchronization of charging sessions:

  • The device stores all charging sessions independently.

  • A connection to the app is theoretically only needed once per month.

Ways to connect:

  • During an active charging session

  • Via the activation button on the cable (small circle), if the internal battery is charged – this allows synchronization even without an ongoing charging session.


5. Complete Your Profile

  • Complete your user profile in the app.

  • Mandatory fields are predefined by the company and required for reimbursement.

  • Optional fields can be added as you wish.


6. Upload Proof of Your Energy Tariff

To ensure you receive the correct reimbursement rate, we need details of your current energy tariff.

Important: The document must include:

  • Validity period of the tariff

  • Gross price per kWh

  • Your address (for clear assignment)

Upload options:

  • Directly in the app as a file

  • Via camera scan (one-time permission required)

Please make sure that:

  • The image is sharp and fully legible

  • The file is no larger than 5 MB

  • All relevant details are visible

The price per kWh will only be used for home charging at the verified power connection of your company car.


7. Monthly Receipt Confirmation

  • After a full month has passed, you will automatically receive a push notification (smartphone permission required).

  • In the receipt confirmation, confirm that all charging sessions were carried out with the company car and at the registered power connection.

Optional:

  • Remove or add individual charging sessions.

  • Recheck the stored tariff.

After confirmation, the receipt will be automatically submitted:

  • Either via the registered email address (e.g., directly to accounting)

  • Or as a PDF for manual submission (e.g., for travel expense reports)


8. Invitation to the Fleet Management Dashboard

For your fleet management to gain direct access to your charging data, receipts, and tariffs:

  • You must be invited to the dashboard with the same email address you registered in the app.

  • You will receive an email with a confirmation link and the name of the person who invited you.

  • Once you accept the invitation, your data will be visible in the dashboard for the authorized person.
