β‘ Safety First
The disconnect switch on your LinkTwo wallbox is a safety feature required by regulatory standards. It prevents the charging cable from being unplugged under voltage (load) β a measure to avoid electrical arcs or damage to the electronics.
π Where is the disconnect switch?
You will find the disconnect switch on the underside of the LinkTwo box. It is positioned so that it can be conveniently pressed with one hand while unplugging the connector. With the other hand, you can simultaneously pull out the plug.
For further details on handling and the positioning of the switch, please refer to the user manual. The latest user manual can be found at: https://www.locio.de/support
β How to correctly unplug the cable
To ensure the charging cable can be removed smoothly and without excessive force, please proceed as follows:
Press the disconnect switch: Hold the switch pressed to release the lock. Apply moderate force. Pressing it in by approximately 1 centimetre is completely sufficient.
Simultaneously unplug the cable: Pull the charging cable out of the socket with your other hand.
This combination ensures a safe and effortless disconnection.
π§ Excessive force required when unplugging the cable?
Unplugging should not feel unusually difficult or "jerky". If a high amount of force is required, this may indicate:
an incomplete unlocking,
improper pulling technique, or
a technical issue.
The amount of force required also depends on the connector model β but should generally remain moderate.
β οΈ Caution with visible damage
If the box shows damage beyond scratches (e.g. cracks or housing deformation), please do not continue using the wallbox and have it inspected. This is for your safety.
π οΈ Important: Stable wall mounting
Please also check whether your LinkTwo wallbox has been:
mounted on a DIN rail as intended
securely fixed to the wall
A stable mounting protects against excessive movement when unplugging and extends the lifespan of the wallbox.
