Your Device Has Arrived
You will receive your device in a box delivered to your home. The package includes:
The charging cable or wallbox adapter
A flyer with download instructions for the app and all important information
The device is ready to use immediately and can be used for charging before the app is set up – all charging sessions are stored directly on the device, even without an app connection.
Note for LinkTwo users: Please read the installation guide before use and complete the installation fully before proceeding to Step 1.
Step 1: Download the App
Download the LOCIO app to your smartphone and install it completely.
iOS: App Store → search for "LOCIO"
Android: Google Play → search for "LOCIO"
Launch the app after installation.
Tip: After installation, you will need to grant the app access to Bluetooth and optionally to notifications. Both are required for full functionality.
Step 2: Create an Account
Open the app and tap "Register".
Enter your company email address. Make sure to use your work email – this is the only way fleet management can identify you in the dashboard and assign your data correctly. Private email addresses cannot be matched.
Choose a secure password and accept the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Tap "Continue" and complete the email verification if prompted.
Once registered, you can log in to the app.
Invitation to the Fleet Management Dashboard
For your fleet management to access your charging data, receipts, and tariffs, you need to be invited to the dashboard using the email address registered in the app:
You will receive an email with a confirmation link and the name of the person who invited you.
Once you accept the invitation, your data will be visible to the authorised person in the dashboard.
Haven't received an invitation yet? This either means your employer doesn't use the dashboard, or the invitation hasn't been sent yet. Your charging data will not be lost. Once you accept an invitation, additional mandatory fields may appear in the app that must be completed before the first monthly close.
Note: The dashboard at dashboard.locio.de is exclusively for fleet management. As a company car driver, you manage everything through the LOCIO app – no dashboard access required.
Step 3: Connect Your Device
Plug In and Start Charging
Connect the cable between the wallbox and your vehicle – just as you would with any other charging cable. Charging starts immediately.
Charging sessions are never lost: Every charging session is stored directly on the device – regardless of whether your smartphone is nearby. The data is transferred automatically the next time a Bluetooth connection is established.
Pair the Device with the App
Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
Open the LOCIO app and follow the device pairing steps.
The device will appear automatically in the app and will be registered when you start your first charging session.
Device not showing up? If the device has been idle for a long time and its battery is empty, Bluetooth will only become available once power is flowing. Simply plug in the cable and start a charging session – the device will then be visible and ready to pair. Previously stored charging sessions will not be lost.
LinkOne: Press the round button on the cable box – a beep confirms activation. You can also sync the device without an active charging session if the internal battery is charged.
LinkTwo – Unplugging the cable correctly: The LinkTwo has a mandatory disconnect switch on the underside of the box that prevents the cable from being unplugged under load – this is a safety requirement, not a defect. To unplug correctly: (1) Press and hold the disconnect switch on the underside (pressing approx. 1 cm is sufficient). (2) At the same time, pull the plug out of the socket with your other hand. Unplugging should not feel unusually difficult. If it requires excessive force, check that the release mechanism has fully engaged. The locking mechanism cannot be controlled via the app – it is controlled exclusively by the vehicle and wallbox.
How Often Do I Need to Connect?
Once a month is fully sufficient. Simply open the app within Bluetooth range of the device – all stored charging sessions will be transferred automatically.
Step 4: Complete Your Profile & Add Your Electricity Tariff
Complete Your Profile
Fill in your user profile in the app. Mandatory fields are defined centrally by your employer and are required for billing. Optional fields can be filled in as you wish.
Upload Your Electricity Tariff
Required if your employer reimburses you based on your individual household tariff. The document must include:
Your name and home address (for clear identification)
Gross price per kWh in €/kWh (not ct/kWh – typically 0.25–0.45 €)
Validity period of the tariff
Suitable documents include a tariff overview or welcome letter from your energy provider – individual invoices are not accepted. Upload the document directly in the app as a file or scan it using your camera (one-time permission required).
Please make sure that:
The image is sharp and fully legible
The file is no larger than 5 MB
All relevant information is clearly visible
Important: Please only submit currently valid tariffs. LOCIO is required to verify tariff data on behalf of your employer and may reject submissions that do not meet the requirements. Verification can take up to 2 business days – you can continue charging normally during this time.
The price per kWh is used exclusively for home charging sessions at the verified electricity connection of your company car.
Step 5: Monthly Receipt Confirmation
After a full month has passed, you will automatically receive a push notification (notification permission on your smartphone required).
How to confirm your receipt:
Open the notification or navigate to "Receipts" in the app.
Review all charging sessions: only sessions with your company car at your registered electricity connection may be confirmed.
Remove or add individual entries if needed.
Review your stored tariff once more.
Confirm the receipt.
After confirmation, the receipt is submitted automatically – either to a stored email address (e.g. directly to accounting) or as a PDF for manual submission (e.g. for expense reports).
Receipt review can take up to 2 business days. While the review is in progress, the receipt is not yet finalised – you don't need to do anything during this time.
Your employer uses Payment+? If your employer has enabled direct payouts via LOCIO (Payment+), you must have a valid IBAN stored in the app. This prompt will only appear after you have accepted your employer's invitation. Instead of a PDF receipt, the payout is made directly – no document is generated for submission. The amount and timing of the payout are handled between you and your employer.
