Overview
There are two separate actions: change for a forgotten PIN, and cable handover. Which one you choose depends on whether the cable stays with the same person or goes to someone else.
Allow change for a forgotten PIN
If the driver has forgotten their PIN code but is keeping the cable, this action helps: it allows the assigned person to set a new PIN code without knowing the previous one. The cable is not reset in the process, and no data is lost.
How to do it:
In the dashboard, open the cable overview (or alternatively the driver overview).
Find the cable in question and open the Edit cable action.
Enable Allow change for a forgotten PIN.
Save.
What the driver then needs to do:
Open the app once with an internet connection. Only then does the app learn about the release. The cable does not need to be nearby for this.
Go to the cable and connect. The app will immediately ask for a new PIN code. This step also works without internet.
The release only applies to the person currently assigned. It is not a way to hand a cable over to someone else.
Initiate cable handover
This action cannot be undone, and any charging sessions that have not yet been synced will be lost.
This action is primarily intended to prepare the cable for a new person. It also helps in the special case where the cable was not reset during handover and the new person sees the message "Your LOCIO device is registered to another user" in the app.
How to do it:
In the dashboard, open the cable overview (or alternatively the driver overview).
Find the cable in question and select Initiate cable handover.
Confirm with Prepare handover.
What happens:
The cable is detached from the previous person and counts as unassigned.
The next time it is connected in the app, all charging sessions still stored on the cable are deleted before anything is synced. The cable starts fresh.
The new person is prompted to set their own PIN code without knowing the previous one.
