LOCIO devices can be found in the navigation bar of the LOCIO app under "Cable" once they are active. A device activates automatically when a charging session is running or when the button on the LOCIO device is held for a few seconds.
Please note that the device cannot be activated via the button if the internal battery is empty – for example, during initial setup or after an extended period without a charging session.
There are two clear signs that a cable is active:
Green LED (only for devices with a transparent housing)
A green LED is visible through the transparent housing on the side of the cable. This is not the same as the LEDs on the energy meter. Please refer to the attached image for reference.Visibility in the LOCIO app
The device is displayed in the "Cable" section of the LOCIO app. This requires Bluetooth to be enabled and the relevant Bluetooth permissions to have been granted.
Additionally, an audible signal can be heard at the beginning and end of a recorded charging session.
A LOCIO device remains active as long as a charging session is running or it is connected via Bluetooth to a smartphone. After that, it deactivates after 10 minutes – provided the battery is charged – until it is reactivated via the LOCIO device button or by starting a new charging session.
Notes on the required use of Phase 1 (L1)
Phase 1 (L1) must be used to start the recording of a charging session and to activate LOCIO devices.
The use of additional phases is possible and intended – for example, three-phase charging.
Phase 1 (L1) is used by default for most charging setups. Exceptions may occur:
when an energy management system is in use,
when the wallbox has a phase-switching function, or
when charging modes such as PV surplus or ECO are active.
If these features are not needed, we recommend disabling them to ensure reliable recording.
If a charging session is carried out without using Phase 1, the energy will still be recorded in the meter. However, it will not be assigned to a charging session with the correct timestamp. Instead, this energy will be allocated to the next charging session that takes place using Phase 1.
If the above exceptions are intentionally used and a Phase 1 configuration is not possible, an energy management system can still be used effectively by applying the preferred charging mode during everyday use and switching back to standard three-phase charging before the end of the month. This ensures that the monthly billing includes all energy charged during that month.
